Publication Date: October 4, 2016
First in a gripping paranormal romantic
suspense duo by a Golden Heart finalist debut author whose clinical
work gives her chilling insights...
Cursed with a terrible
gift...
Criminal investigator Xander Stone doesn't have to
question you—he can hear your thoughts. Scarred by lightning,
burdened with a power that gives him no peace, Xander struggles to
maintain his sanity against the voice that haunts him day and
night—the voice of a woman begging him to save her.
A gift
that threatens to engulf them...
Isleen Walker has long since
given up hope of escape from the nightmare of captivity and torture
that is draining her life, her mind, and her soul. Except...there is
the man in her feverish dreams, the strangely beautiful man who
beckons her to freedom and wholeness. And when he comes, if he comes,
it will take all their combined fury and faith to overcome a madman
bent on fulfilling a deadly prophecy.
Wow! Interesting story with full of surprises! Race the Darkness will leave you wanting more! The story and the characters of this book are amazing!!!! From the start up to the last, I was hooked on the story. The characters, Xander and Isleen are easy to relate with and love. Xander, a man who has a physical defect - scarring - because of an incident that happened to him. But adding to his scarring, he now possessed a power to hear the thoughts of people around him. Despite having this ability, he struggles to find peace and sanity - because he keeps on hearing a woman calling for him, for his help. Isleen, a woman who is held captive by people who are hell bent on killing her. What I love about this book is that I was intrigued not only on the characters but also on the story of this book - what will happen next. This book is full of suspense and unexpected events that will make you addicted to this book. Loved it! I can't wait for what's next on this series. Ms. Abbie nailed it!
